Last year's Kerry National winner Desertmore House and this year's Munster National winner Real Steel both have big chances off their hurdles mark, although the former might ne more effective left-handed. A Tipp For Gold and easy Sligo winner Great Universe are appealing too among others. It might pay to side with the very promising KARL DES TOURELLES, runner up in a graded novice hurdle in the spring with a run at Listowel behind him. [Justin O'Hanlon] Show less

Spotlight Career-best performance when winning last season's Kerry National; ran well despite jumping left in a Grade 3 contest here last month; back hurdling here off a 16lb lower mark and has to be respected with the champion jockey booked; probably prefers going left handed though.
Spotlight Three wins to his credit and suited by a trip; 6lb rise for winning a Fairyhouse handicap hurdle for this rider is not excessive and is another with a chance.
Spotlight Breezed home in a staying maiden hurdle at Sligo last month over a similar trip; 13lb rise is probably fair enough but taking on stronger opposition; respected.
Spotlight Appreciates a trip and coming on nicely with handicap hurdle wins at Killarney and Sligo; up 25lb for those two wins and this is a tough ask but well worth a go while he is in this form.
Spotlight Looked a horse of considerable promise when winning a Sligo bumper last year and ran very well despite some dodgy jumping on his hurdles debut at Naas in December; tongue-tie tried back at Sligo last time when carried left and possibly unlucky; still retains plenty of promise and a big run here in his first handicap would not be a shock.
Spotlight Dual winner for Willie Mullins and found his form again in the spring for his current trainer, winning a Fairyhouse handicap hurdle and a Wexford handicap chase; probably stays this trip but likely to improve for whatever he does here.
Spotlight Ran up a hat-trick over hurdles two years ago; winning chaser too and good handicap form including when fifth in the Thyestes; not seen since March; reverting to hurdles off a slightly lower mark and interesting after an eight month break.
Spotlight Winning hurdler and stays well; jumped poorly and reportedly returned stiff whan last seen at the Galway festival over fences; each-way chance if able to return to something like his best; one of two for the stable.
Spotlight Running off his more generous hurdles mark of late, winning off 117 over 3m at Listowel but not quite running to that level off a 7lb higher mark; 1lb lower here and unlikely to be far away but one or two others appeal more.
Spotlight Has put it together on the big day over fences more than once, winning the Paddy Power Chase at Leopardstown two years ago, and last time in the blinkers when winning the Munster National at Limerick; relatively unexposed over hurdles and is 18lb lower; likely to go from the front here and could be thereabouts.
Spotlight Looked a nice prospect in the spring, winning at 100-1 on debut at Gowran and runner-up in a Grade 2 novice at Fairyhouse; needed the run on his return on the Flat at Listowel; yet to see the best of him and a most intriguing runner.
Spotlight Made all to win a 2m maiden hurdle at Listowel; stepped up in class to run well in a 2m5f Listed contest at Limerick since; unknown territory regarding this trip but seems to be going the right way.
Spotlight This trainer seemed to have found the key to him over the summer with wins at Downpatrick and Galway; disappointed off this career-high mark at Gowran last month and has to prove his effectiveness off it; ground could be a worry too.
Spotlight Overcame some poor jumping to win a 2m7f maiden hurdle here in January; well beaten twice since; has the ability to go well if his jumping frailties have been sorted.
Spotlight Enjoyed a good season last year, winning the Cork Grand National and took advantage of his lower hurdles mark to win a 3m handicap hurdle at the same venue; not seen since May and this veteran is likely to take the run.
