Spotlight: Won a maiden at Ayr (2m3f, heavy) in February and, having had a wind op, showed improved form when second in a first-time tongue-tie (retained) at Chepstow (2m7f, good to soft) last month; doesn't seem entirely straightforward but was clear with the winner last time and could be thereabouts up 4lb.
Spotlight: Second on debut in a soft-ground bumper last October and he won on his hurdle/seasonal debut at Newton Abbot (2m5f, good to soft) in September; clear runner-up in a novice there (2m5f, good to soft) last time; makes handicap debut and is in excellent hands to continue to progress; player.
Spotlight: Won a novice hurdle at Exeter (2m, soft) last December and finished second of seven on reappearance at Fontwell (2m3f, good to soft) three weeks ago; only five and further improvement is possible; not discounted.
Spotlight: Turned over at 4-7 in Ludlow novice in February and well-beaten fourth on handicap debut at Kelso in March; goes beyond 2m for the first time under rules but she was third in a 3m point in 2023 and looked promising in novice hurdles last November; yard won this in 2019 and 2023; not written off.
Spotlight: Won a novice hurdle at Kelso (2m5f, good) in May for James Ewart and followed up on his handicap/stable debut there (2m6f, good) three weeks ago; unproven on slow ground and hit with a 9lb rise, but this 5yo won both races in smooth style and could still be ahead of the handicapper.
Spotlight: Came from the back of the field under Eoin Staples to win readily on stable debut at Ballinrobe (2m6f, soft) in September, then finished fifth in a slowly run race at Listowel (3m, yielding) 12 days later when he was caught wide turning for home and those ridden more prominently were favoured; this should be run to suit his hold-up style; one to note.
Spotlight: Soft-ground bumper winner who was placed in three novice hurdles last season (2m5f/2m3f, good-soft) and was runner-up on his handicap and seasonal debut at Uttoxeter (2m4f, good to soft) a fortnight ago; lightly raced and could continue to progress for in-form yard; cheekpieces go on.
Spotlight: Good-ground maiden hurdle winner who made it 2-4 in this sphere when winning at Ffos Las (2m4f, soft) in April on second handicap start; beaten 11l when second of four on subsequent chase debut at Southwell (3m, good) in June but this lightly raced 7yo retains potential for his powerful stable.
Spotlight: Won a maiden at Wexford (2m4f, good) in May and placed in handicaps in Ireland on his last five starts, including in big fields and most recently at Punchestown (2m4f, good to yielding) last month; unproven on soft/heavy ground; could well be in the mix once more.
Spotlight: Won seven point-to-points in a row (including on soft ground) before returning to hurdles with a handicap win at Newton Abbot (2m5f, good to soft) four weeks ago; had just a short head to spare last time and he's up 4lb in a hotter race today, but he might have more left in the tank.
Spotlight: Highly progressive last winter, winning three handicaps in a row (2m3f/2m4f, good to soft/soft), and he scoped dirty when pulled up at Ayr in March when last seen; this unexposed 5yo could still be on a good mark if bouncing back to form on today's reappearance outing.
Spotlight: He's below last November's last winning mark and his pedigree suggests this step up in trip is worth a go; there is plenty of time for this 6yo to get his career back on track but he's been soundly beaten/pulled up on his two outings this season and a major turnaround is required.
Spotlight: 8yo who returned this April from a long absence and needs to prove she retains her previous promise; however, following a six-month break she ran respectably when sixth at Uttoxeter four weeks ago and she may be able to build on that performance; well treated on her old form and not ruled out.
Spotlight: Three handicap wins last year (2m-2m3f, good to soft) and runner-up off this mark over 2m5f at Kempton (good) last December; however, he needs to improve upon what he's shown on his three hurdle starts this year.
Spotlight: Irish-trained mare who won a big-field novice hurdle at Chepstow (2m3f, soft) last October and a market check is advised; however, she's been unable to kick on from that success and her form in Ireland this autumn (hurdles/fences) has been mixed.
Spotlight: Made all twice in a row in May (2m2f/2m, good) and placed on next two runs (2m, good), the latest in July; won on heavy ground on the Flat; however, this is a hotter race than he's used to and he's untested at the trip.
Spotlight: Easily won the Eider Chase at Newcastle (4m1f, good to soft) in February; also won over 2m4f last season and he won two novice hurdles in the 2022-23 campaign, but he may be best watched now back in this discipline.
Spotlight: Down in the weights and one to watch in the betting but this 12yo has struggled on his four runs since returning in August from a long absence.

After he won in fine style on his debut for Edward Power at Ballinrobe in September, things did not pan out in favour of PRIORY PARK (nap) at Listowel 12 days later and he remains of interest. A strongly run race and the Cheltenham hill should both be right up his street and significant rain would not be an issue. The unexposed Lucky Manifest impressed on his stable debut at Kelso three weeks ago and he may be the chief danger ahead of fellow 5yo Lord Of All Saints, who was highly progressive last winter. Handicap newcomer A Pai De Nom is trained by Dan Skelton and is next on the list, while Kalium, Bective Abbey and As Legends Have It are also respected.[Ben Hutton] Show less
